Quick note from Bishop Freestone

February 28, 2016 Hi Souliers -- Annie and her companion were at our home this evening for dinner and a fireside with the Ward Youth. Annie did a nice presentation on seeking the Holy Ghost in our daily lives in school and with friends. She did great job. All the best -- Mitchell Bishop Freestone, Sister Cummings, Sister Soulier

2nd week in the field

Sis Cummings walking to church Sis Cummings and Sis Soulier Sister's apartment church Friend letter February 29, 2016 God works in mysterious ways, but he always works for the benefit of our happiness. Sometimes we don't understand where he is leading us or why he is leading us, but nevertheless he is leading us. This is a hard thing to understand--a hard concept to grasp. Sometimes we think our way is better, or that God's way is uncomfortable or won't work. Other times, we try so hard to follow the promptings from the Lord that sometimes just end up sitting around waiting for a prompting! It is so difficult to find the balance of following his constant guidance, yet still work and grow on our own. Something I found this week is that these two concepts are divinely intertwined. And that answer relies fully on the sentence, Trust in God. A few of the past days were rather difficult for Sister Cummings and me. Appointment after a...

Bishop Freestone Lea Valley ward

We're so excited that Annie is serving in the Lea Valley ward with our friend as bishop.  Here is his description of the ward. February 25, 2016 Hello Jennie and Jason -- ...The Lea Valley Ward is quite an eclectic mix; very few Brits (other than my wife). Most members are from former British colonies / Commonwealth countries or Eastern Europe, and almost all new members or first generation converts. As I explained to a Sister Soulier, the Ward just marches to the beat of a slightly different drum but the intentions are good and the sincerity of faith in Jesus Christ is real, even if administratively we are on a bit of a learning curve. It's an inner city Ward whose boundaries exclusively take in neighbourhoods that are the first rung on the immigrant ladder. If you liked Boston 2nd Ward, you'll love Lea Valley Ward.

1st Assignment--Lea Valley

Of all the wards/branches she could've been assigned, she went to Lea Valley, like the "Bronx" of London, where Mitch Freestone is the bishop.  He used to be in our Boston ward when Annie was 3 years old.  I wonder if he'll put that together one of these days.  :)  Lucky Annie Letter to friends: February 22, 2016 okay, CAN I JUST SAY MISSION LIFE IS THE GREATEST?!?!  Miracle upon miracle happen again and again and I can't believe I am so privileged to experience it all.  Oh my goodness it's just so good.  Wow I love it.  Okay okay okay what has happened these past 10 days?  Better question, what hasn't happened?!  Rewind to MTC. MTC was so grand.  I loved, loved, loved it!  The people there are absolutely incredible and we had such a blast together.  I grew so close with everyone and the last thing I wanted to do Wednesday morning was to leave the MTC to go to the field!  Ironic, I know....

She's arrived!

Even though we haven't heard from her, we know she made it. Her cute mission mom, Sister Stevens sent these pics.  She is officially out teaching the people of England. Hurrah!

England MTC

February 8, 2016                                                 Hello everyone!!                             This is my first email of the good ol mish and coincidentally, the first time I've seen the sun longer then an hour in the English countryside!  No, I'm not stuck in prison, it is just really cloudy and rainy here.  Yep.  Apparently when people say England is always cloudy, they weren't lying.  But, it is still beautiful! I miss you all so much and am realizing more and more everyday how wonderful you all are!! I am literally so blessed to know all of you--and I can't wait to...

First Message

Annie arrived and was able to write a quick email. February 4, 2016 Family!!! I am so happy I get to write a message to you today, although it is a British computer and a bunch of the symbols are different.  This may be a slow process, but hopefully I can tell you some of what has happened on this super eventful day!!!   First of all, I miss you all SO MUCH!  Everywhere I turn I wish all of you were here so you could share in the adventure.  Cuz oh boy, it has been an adventure!! Ma, this next bit is for you because this is all about my airplane experience and you did not want to miss out on that.  Alright, here we go!  After saying goodbye to you guys, I found my gate and slowly walked up.  I looked all over for any elders to talk to so that I wouldn't be alone.  Of course all of them had disappeared.  So, I decided I had to start talking to people!  Since the flight was to Atlanta there were so many Southern Bap...
