5/18/18 Week 2  "Go read the Book of Mormon"

Kumusta po na kayo! I'm just trucking along in the mtc for another week. I've been memorizing more words and sentence structure but most of us are hoping for Kaloob ng mga wika (gift of tongues). The district I'm in is a blast. Everyone's putting in the work and we all are helping each other out. I taught a investigator in Tagalog with my kasama and we got as far as getting her to go to church. I think the food is poisoning me, and my dorm smells worst then my room at home which is a very impressive feat. We get to play volleyball and that's been thrilling. I now look forward to when I get to do personal study and read my scriptures so if you’re reading this then go read  the book of mormon. I'm getting to know more people and starting to get used to the schedule. Thanks Elder Soulier

5/9/18 First Note

Kamusta po kayo! I just arrived at the Provo MTC last wednesday. I've been very full with lots of activities. Right when I arrived I drop my luggage off and walked into a office/classroom with someone speaking crazy tagalog to me and pointing to a board. My district has 4 companions of elders and 2 companions of sisters. My companion is Elder Chandler, he's from Hawaii and he's a great companion so far. I could never pronounce his first or middle name but just saying Elder Chandler is pretty easy. I'm still getting adjusted. Everyday has felt long because we wake up early to try to get a head start, and then we stay up late trying to keep up with class work. It's a great community here, everyone else is in similar situations with being missionaries. Plenty of people are heading to the Philippines with me. My whole dorm floor is full of Elders learning tagalog trying to incorporate into daily use. It's been great to always be searching for the spirit,...

And he’s off! May 9, 2018

May 9th has finally arrived and the great Elder Soulier is ready to go. He got everything into one bag and is off to the Provo MTC. We all took school off and picked up Annie from work and headed down. Jake is going to be such a fantastic missionary. We are so excited for him!
