I got called down to my first area in Mindoro, the island in our mission, and we focus our efforts in Mamburoa. So, I left the city and now it's province. The branch in Mamburoa was just created less than a year ago and the people are very receptive here. The branch, I was told, has just over 90 members but about 60 or 70 are active right now. We are in the branch with another pair of Elders and we live them but we aren't too close to any other missionaries. Oh, and it rains everyday, a lot. But, we actually have one of the nicest homes in the mission because they had to move us from the last one that was flooded. Everyone is especially nice here. You say hi and they just say pasok or enter. Then you take off your shoes and climb in their small cement home. It is very beautiful here. I've got the ocean and huge mountains and items become even cheaper. Something different here from my last mission, was that we just have appoinments all day, we only find when walk...

President and Sister Koster

It's been quite the trip. I got in San Francisco and, eventually, a whole big bunch of missionaries joined me. But the long plane ride to the Philippines was no fun. It is such a beautiful place here in the Philippines and so much different than everything I have always been used to. The driving is just always crazy. It's also been crazy with getting thrown around everywhere. First, missionaries go to the Philippines MTC and stay there for 5 days so we drove there and meet the mtc president, very funny guy. But, since I was already a visa waiter ( 11ish total visa waiters that are with me and 7 are all going to the same mission) they wanted to send us directly to our missions. So President Koster came and pick us up and we had interviews. BTW Pres. Koster is a very very special mission President, like if he doesn't become an Apostle after this, somethings weird. But transfer day isn't till next week so they have split us up with different Elders until transfe...
