Transfers again? Elder Ropati leaves

Wassup...  Transfers passed and I'm still here, so we all good.  We had a fun activity after our baptisms this week but we've been all around with exchanges and different things.  An Elder left in our area (to go home) which was too bad because we are all close with living together and sharing the area.  So right now we have 4 or 3 days of being in a trio until another elder arrives.  It's hard to explain everything...you know...you just do stuff.   Its been a scary week with transfers cuz (elder ropati has been here a long time and he has solved a lot of our problems but he went home)  I'm a bit scared with my future with my companion but I know if I do it the way I should...I'm gonna grow a lot, sometimes, you just wish it could happen another way.  really loving it here.  We'll be getting a filipino too so I probly won't be staying up late anymore talking in english.  It's been tricky to have the...

Time is passing fast here.  We had our first branch council meeting this week, things are still moving along.  Very busy finding then trying to help people progress. Thanks Elder Soulier

New Companion

My new companion is great.  As usually, it's been a very blessed week.  I didn't realize how great my last companion was.  I would think things like, President only put me with him to have me be in Mindoro and cuz the batch I came in was so huge that he had me put with someone who wasn't as good cuz I've had some training before in Washington but now that he's gone thats not true.  I mean, he's a zone leader now, I had a lot of good times and good work with him but I had no need to be complaning about different things in my head about him so I'm focusing on not letting me regret that again with my new companion.  He's not as joking around as my last companion was (don't worry he's a filipino that still is constently joking) and I see the different people or ways that he can reach that E. Cayton couldn't.   CJ, Dessa, Karen and Catrice have now been all baptized and conformed into the church and I had a very strong spiritual experience giving ...

Trainer Cayton is transferred back to Quezon City

A pretty scary storm has been coming down on the Philippines but where I am, I'm pretty safe and the mission always takes close precaution.  But we somehow do get even more rain and even more brownouts, multiple times a day.  I will be losing my companion, Elder Cayton and getting a new companion on thursday but I don't know too much about him right now but I'm excited.   Mamburao has been awesome we have great plans for the branch and more importantly they have this delicious ice cream here for only 60 p.   Thanks for all the prayers Elder Soulier Here's my district and who I live with Transfer are upcoming this week and I don't know if I told you but typically we email on Tuesday but thats so if you change areas you can pack and leave the next day.  And for Mindoro we don't leave until Thursday, so we just got permission this time for monday.   I'm getting a new companion, Elder Cayton has been super awesome bu...

Super Typhoon headed Jake's way

From The New York Times: Super Typhoon Mangkhut Heads Toward Philippines and China The storm could expose as many as 43 million people to cyclone-strength winds over the next few days. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/12/world/asia/super-typhoon-mangkhut-philippines.html

Questions for Annie

ay kumusta naman ka Iyos lang kung isulat ko ang lahat ng mga message sa iyo sa Tagalog upang magiging fluent ba? joke lang Very funny right.  but I feel like I don't know much about your mission and now that I understand how missions work I'm super curious what your missionary life was like.  The only questions I had for you while you were out was what kind of food you ate....that's like the least important part.   Send me a rundown description.  What were your areas like and how long were you in, in each one.  What was your mission president like.  (My is better sadly, he is garunteed at least a general authourity position after he is released and you'll just never understand how much good he does, I feel it just from thinking it) But like he always talks about living the higher law.    What were your companions like, from all parts of the world if I remember right.  Did you ever have any leadership?  You could've been an AP...

Opening Santa Cruz

Good week. When president came down and set apart people to Melkezideck and then calls, it was a very spiritually strong experience that was very cool to be part of.  Sorry right now we are at the end of the day at San Jose trying to finish emailing so the other elders can email also so we can get an interview with pres. But we are always very busy. Oh my this 'resort' we went to earlier was so beautiful and I didn't even have my camera...I'll try to get pictures from other elders. But it was basically a beach with whitish sand and a little resort with no people there, very cool. We've had to stay at other elders houses cuz...travel. But seeing other houses makes me grateful and sad. Like the fact that they get a trash can? but all their water is egg water, its all slimy so at least I dont have to take a slimy bucket shower everyday. Opening Santa Cruz Very exctiting...the other elders(in Mamburao) will mostly be the ones to do it but we will be heavily invo...
