December 2, 2019 (First and Last Letter to President)

Hello President
It's been a good week.  My companion and I have been pushing along just fine.
Still enjoying every bit of being in Mamburao.  This last Sunday Kristine came to church.
She is an rc just a bit before I got here but she hasn't come to church since I've got here.
We've had some difficulties with trying to visit her.  She lived in Santa Cruz for a bit for
work and when we visited her 2 weeks ago for the first time and she was very sick, very
skinny.  It was a bit scary but we gave her a blessing and the next week we came back
and she was doing great.  A week later, yesterday, she bore her testimony on how she
was nervous about her health and how we came over and "took time to pray"  and after
that, she explained, how she, herself, has constantly been praying and how she has
received strength.  It was very amazing to see that miracle.
Thank, lots of love
Elder Soulier

Letter to Family
kinda of a slow week for investigators.  I've learned how to really get along with
my companion but I don't feel like I can work at the pace that I would like too.
Little bit slower and more laid back then I would prefer but it's necessary right now
so that we don't restrict the Spirit to always be with us.
'Bro' Gabanan was supposed to be back last Saturday but...not quite yet and we
can't confirm people next week cuz of our district conference.
I don't think Nanay Miriam will ever come to church.  She was going to get baptized
when I first got here but a schedule problem arised and since then we've had some
really strong experiences with her and she enjoys coming to church but...idk she just
never seems to wanna do it.
The Villaluna twins are always out of town.  but they are super awesome, really smart
and have been able to come to church for the most part.  We plan for them to be
baptized this saturday but.. you never know.  I really really do wanna see them in
white.
I'm looking forward to getting Gabriel the priesthood soon so he can help with
sacrament.
we didn't have any power all sunday so Katherine wasn't able to come to church
again (she's been sick before) cuz she is taking care of her little baby brother and
he can't be sitting in our hot building for an hour
We've been trying to spend more time with members.  I would love to just be a
normal missionary here and teach and find but I can see, members still need our
attention so they stay strong in the church.

hopefully this doesnt sound too negative.  I'm really enjoying it all, it's just a slow
week for progress and I wanna be able to just work a little more.   but of course
loving it all, everything is still progressing.  Santa Cruz is getting more life as it gets
ready to take in new elders.

love you lots,
Elder Soulier

Kicking it here in Mamburao.  Our new church building is picking up pace.
It looks like it really will be able to be finished in December.  We had a nice
little service activity on Saturday where we planned to meet at the church at
7 then we got started at 8 where we just started to walk down the street from
our little meeting house and picked up trash.  It didn't take too long to fill up all
the bags.  This upcoming week we'll be having a district conference so we'll have
to be waking up early and have a long drive as a branch to San Jose for a day.
I'm enjoying the weather and staying close to the beach.

Thanks
Elder Soulier

Good evening :) Crazy crazy week as always.  Not sure where to start and where to end. Unfortunately Mark's baptism had to be postponed.  He is still coming to church and loves learning and wants to get baptized.  A concern came up and his baptism needed to be postponed.  We also passed him to the elders to continue to get ready for his baptism.  I'll keep you posted.   Eline is doing so fantastically well.  She accepted the word of wisdom no problem and continues to prepare for baptism on December 11th!  She is very prepared. Our other prepared favorite investigator, Jane Susan.  Pretty sure I already told you all about her.  Hopefully.  Her sister and niece recently got baptized in Gorelston (by Norwich) and told Jane about how they love the church, so now Jane wants to learn.  She was a referral from the Stratford ward.  She is so prepared it is so great teaching her.  Appointments last precisely 45...

July and warming up

July 19 HELLO!!!! Good to hear from all of you!  I know I say this every time. But time is going so fast. Next week will be transfers. I do not want to lose my companion. We need to stay together. You can pray for that. Just kidding. We will se what next week brings! P day will be on Tuesday again so emails will be late. This week was a good week!! I'm trying to remember everything that happened. It's all such a blur. Oh Nish!!! Our lovely investigator from India. She wow. She is all over the place. Every day (no every hour) Sister Guimaraes and I go back and forth of whether she I'll make her date for July 30th or not. We just don't know what to think. She has refused to give up coffee at all in the past. This week we committed her to no coffee and she did it! In fact in our lesson on Saturday she said she could give up coffee forever!! (Except for this coffee dessert but we will work it out). What a drastic change this was. All because she is praying and reading ev...
