Hello! I've been enjoying my time with my companion, Elder Abquina.  Our ward is supa awesome.  We have a tatay, older member, that works with us everyday and other members work but they typically only work on Sundays.  We have been getting feed a lot.  And finding new ready people, it's just sometimes hard for people.  Even tho they want to listen and come to church and learn, they are busy.  But we keep trying to do better and enjoy ourselves.

That's crazy that you're in Rome.  So mom, are this places you've already been to before? And I feel you with the language, sometimes it's just like...I just gotta better pronunciation but that's a crazy experience you're having there.  I've decided I don't enjoy being district leader, maybe if I knew how I was supposed to do it buttt it's all goood.
We are really close to some baptisms but then more problems come up.  It's tricky, once I look back at past transfers it seems like they've been so fast and I know this one will be fast too.  It's like I feel far away from leaving yet it feels like I'm right there.
Like all our people who are really close have been tricky, not with losing interest, just busy and more of other forces.  We have this recent, newly found sister that made big promises to come to church but, nothing, so we still haven't been able to follow that up but we will.  And people getting more busy, kids being too shy to get interviewed.
We found this one group this last week and they literally ask the best questions but as soon as you're less that 1 min in trying to answer it they asked us a new one.  "why are you here, why did you leave your families to come here and work everyday?" "Is there forever" "why are there so many different church's on earth rn" "how do you know your family can be together forevver" "Do miracles still happen" "have you ever experienced a miracle like one from the bible"
man, and we've run out of l1 pamphlets so that means....trying to teach to someone for the first time using L2 or L3 or other ideas.  but its a lot of fun.
We try to make a balance to, if we work in the 'slums' the people typically...say or do some inappropriate things to me, but it depends.  Luckily, we're always safe.  It just makes us have a good laugh
It's fun trying to get dinner appointments here.  We've learned new tactics.  At church you just got to go up to the nanay's or moms and say, so when can we visit you?, then they ask when we are available and we set a date.  Or, if we are working with other members, what filipinos is just call them and say, "yo, where you at, we are coming to you".  And the response is a laugh and ya, come over, we'll give you some food.
Of course you found some filipinos in Italy, they are everyone.  All over the world they sneak in, I think it's because they are adaptable.  But if they are alone, i think, in other countries they'll be shy, quiet and not too eager to talk to others.  While if they are surrounded by other filipinos they'll just start dancing out in public with no care.

Any, thanks, enjoy that beautiful temple.  My companion is just looking at all the videos and news announcements of the Rome Temple and I'm just like, look, they are there, rn.
Love, Elder Soulier

Good evening :) Crazy crazy week as always.  Not sure where to start and where to end. Unfortunately Mark's baptism had to be postponed.  He is still coming to church and loves learning and wants to get baptized.  A concern came up and his baptism needed to be postponed.  We also passed him to the elders to continue to get ready for his baptism.  I'll keep you posted.   Eline is doing so fantastically well.  She accepted the word of wisdom no problem and continues to prepare for baptism on December 11th!  She is very prepared. Our other prepared favorite investigator, Jane Susan.  Pretty sure I already told you all about her.  Hopefully.  Her sister and niece recently got baptized in Gorelston (by Norwich) and told Jane about how they love the church, so now Jane wants to learn.  She was a referral from the Stratford ward.  She is so prepared it is so great teaching her.  Appointments last precisely 45...

July and warming up

July 19 HELLO!!!! Good to hear from all of you!  I know I say this every time. But time is going so fast. Next week will be transfers. I do not want to lose my companion. We need to stay together. You can pray for that. Just kidding. We will se what next week brings! P day will be on Tuesday again so emails will be late. This week was a good week!! I'm trying to remember everything that happened. It's all such a blur. Oh Nish!!! Our lovely investigator from India. She wow. She is all over the place. Every day (no every hour) Sister Guimaraes and I go back and forth of whether she I'll make her date for July 30th or not. We just don't know what to think. She has refused to give up coffee at all in the past. This week we committed her to no coffee and she did it! In fact in our lesson on Saturday she said she could give up coffee forever!! (Except for this coffee dessert but we will work it out). What a drastic change this was. All because she is praying and reading ev...
