DeJohns arrive

Letter to friends: Hello all!  What is gooooooddddd? Party in the hood! (favourite way for my companion to greet every person we ever meet) Thanks Sister Shigekiyo :) So how is salt lake?  Warm and beautiful?  Did you see the sun this week?  We saw the sun in England this week.  Haha mission accomplished. Oh and FYI car horns in England do indeed work.  Even at 2:30 am.  Gotta love living in the city :) Sis Soulier, Sis Shigakiyo, Emilia And yet another funeral was held in our district this week.  My poor companion Sister Shigkeiyo.  Apparently President loves to send me dying trainers.  But hey then I get all their vast wisdom from serving a full 18 months!  She is awesome.  Wonderful thing to happen in this upcoming week... Emilia's baptism :).  What a prepared soul she is.  So prepared.  All we have to do is fill out the baptismal form and invite me...

Miracle Week

Hello and good afternoon!  In case you haven't picked up the vibes coming from England, this has truly been a miracle week! Oh man I can't even explain.  It is just the miracle week.  This week proved to be a miracle week on Tuesday and only continued to get better!  So of course Sister Shigekiyo and I named it Miracle week.   We actually decided to call it miracle week on the Sunday before, but God is so good that He truly did bring to pass a miracle week.   So what makes this a miracle week?  Thanks for asking.   Before I launch into the blessed miracle week--it's important to know what happened before.  The week or two before is best described by reading Ether 12:6.  Yes a couple of trials or bumps in the road.  For those of you few that don't know, missionary work is hard.  Really hard.  And yes everyone warned me before--so don't worry I was semi prepared--but still, it's hard!!!  It's reall...

April 11

Good Morning!! How is the world in Salt Lake right now?  From pictures I have gotten, it looks like spring has officially come!  Oh you lucky ducks.  Fortunately for us too, England is lovely as always.  We are finding the occasional blossom trees and only need to wear one scarf a day instead of 3.  Continual progression that's the goal.  Except I asked someone on the bus when the weather would turn hot (at least warm enough to not wear a coat) and they laughed and said, oh maybe in July.  Alrighty then.  Looking forward to July!  Haha, we love England though. And our English accents are showing slight improvement.  Except Sister Shigekiyo and I are picking up an East London accent, innit?  (ya know whacha mean?) We joke about using these words in everyday vocabulary, but it's slowly turning into a real life joke we see no way of escaping. Ya know whacha mean? This plus taking to everyone about the church, mak...

General Conference and a new Companion

Sis Shigekiyo, Sis Cummings, Sis Soulier Transfers! Sister Cummings will be dearly dearly missed. She was a perfect trainer for me and have taught me so many things. We have greatly greatly enjoyed our time together. I am so sad that this transfer is over. It absolutely flew by. Sister Cummings is AMAZING and luckily lives in Centerville so we will be together again! I am very grateful for this time so far on the mission. It has been better than I ever imagined. And I am so excited for next transfer!! And so, I've officially killed off my companion. And I found out who my new companion is! Her name is sister Shigekiyo! She is from Brazil and sister Cummings was actually a sister training leader with her! Small mission field world. In the past day that we have found out, sister Cummings has just raved about her. She said if she could pick anyone in the mission to be my next companion it would be her. (PS this just barely happened...sister Cum...
