Good Morning!!
How is the world in Salt Lake right now? From pictures I have gotten, it looks like spring has officially come! Oh you lucky ducks. Fortunately for us too, England is lovely as always. We are finding the occasional blossom trees and only need to wear one scarf a day instead of 3. Continual progression that's the goal. Except I asked someone on the bus when the weather would turn hot (at least warm enough to not wear a coat) and they laughed and said, oh maybe in July. Alrighty then. Looking forward to July! Haha, we love England though.
And our English accents are showing slight improvement. Except Sister Shigekiyo and I are picking up an East London accent, innit? (ya know whacha mean?) We joke about using these words in everyday vocabulary, but it's slowly turning into a real life joke we see no way of escaping. Ya know whacha mean? This plus taking to everyone about the church, makes an interesting combo.
Highlights of the blessed week...
Who really knows what language speaking mission I got called to. This past week Sister Shigekiyo and I taught a lesson in Romanian (through Google translate) and ended the lesson with the member saying a prayer in Hungarian. Our next lesson was half in Portugese (thank goodness Sister Shigekiyo knows this language and I can smile and nod all day) after was a quick stop by in Spanish, we dropped off an Albanian Book of Mormon to a woman, and a few days later attempted to communicate to a French man. Yes, we do pray for the gift of tongues often. Although these lessons are tricky and a bit of an adventure at times, it is incredible to see how the gospel is truly for all. Even more amazingly, is that the spirit truly speaks to each person individually. Although Sister Shigekiyo and I may not be able to communicate very well, the Spirit communicates perfectly, and that is all that is needed.
Favorite moment...
Zone meeting! It was really good and I love being with other missionaries. There are certainly some stellar missionaries in my area. Therefore, it is a great blessing to all be together! This past Friday we all gathered together in Hyde Park (right in central London next to the museums) and had Zone meeting. For those who are past missionaries, you know how Zone meeting goes. Different trainings, activities, and goals are set. It is a great time to be all together. However, my absolute favourite part of the meeting was when we set our baptismal goal for the month. To set this goal we looked at past numbers, those on date, those progressing, and we all counselled together for a goal to set. While going through this process, nothing was really coming to mind as a set number. After a bit, we all decided to kneel down in prayer together and directly council with the Lord. All 20 of us knelt down together and began to council with the Lord. And it was powerful. With all of us in complete unity and involving the Lord directly, a great feeling came into the room. The Spirit was so strong. And we did all come up with a number, but more importantly, a great lesson of unity was learned. There is a difference when you are united with others to furthering the Lord's work. It is powerful.
Unity is powerful. I know the Lord blesses us when we are united in a worthy cause. That's one of the reasons we are all here--to support one another and lift each other's burdens. With each personality and spirit working together (most importantly with the Lord's involvement) miracles beyond belief happen. Little miracles pass by daily, faith is strengthened, and steadfastness is built. Incredibly, unity is powerful!
We love London more every passing day. The people here are incredible--the attitude and humility shown and lived, is something that would take years and years to learn. It truly is a blessed land. :)
THE CHURCH IS TRUE! Missionary work is so rewarding and EVERYONE can do it. Isn't that fantastic?? Everyone can share this happiness that we have. Because that is what the gospel brings: true happiness. How can we not share this happiness? Because if it is for Romanians, Albanians, Brazilians, Americans, Italians, Australians, and so many more, it most certainly must be for all! So go spread the happiness!!
Miss and love you all---
Sister Soulier
