At the end of the week there is always hope.
But really though.
Hahahhahahha. I LOVE PUNS.
Hope is a new investigator this week! In fact you could say, we are focusing on hope. Hehe.
Hope is awesome!! He is from Nigeria and was taught the lessons a year ago but somehow skipped the baptism portion. So we will work on that now. He is way cool. We asked him if he believed in God and his response, well, my name is Hope so....uh yes.
Oh Hope, I can tell we are gonna be good friends.
BIG NEWS NEW COMPANION
Welcome to the mission field...SISTER BROWN!
Sister Brown is from Chorley England (right next door to the Preston temple by Manchester) (yessssss finally going to get that British accent. Or the loud American is going to rub off on her...I sure hope not). She is way cool!!! This is her first area--wowza--and she's already rocking it. Poor girl had to go to the Provo MTC because the Preston MTC was closed for renovations. So a lot of unnecessary flying and jet lag. But she is already starting to be a great missionary! Which I am totally for. We've had lots of fun getting to know each other and it's super cool cuz I'm already learning a bunch from her!
Ether 12:6 Faith is things that are hoped for and not seen. All the little seeds we all plant daily to bring others to Christ can't always be seen, but they all do make a difference. Many many testaments have been shown to us on a mission of this truth. The testimonies and examples given always make a difference. So we can sure hope in that!
More things that should make my journal...
When an atheist says God bless to you. Wait a second...
So I found out where you can find root beer in this country! The lds bookstore...why am I not surprised.
When you can't leave the tube because of a football match. How in the world are we going to get to our flat. Ps would suggest not using this as finding time. Unless you happen to be wearing an Arsenal shirt then by all means, go at it!
Awkward when your brilliant Portuguese speaking companion leaves to go home to Brazil and at least 1/3 of your teaching pool speaks Portuguese. Todo Bein.
Or when you stop someone to talk and they rush by saying, no no you don't believe in Chirst I'm not interested. No no wait a second. Look at the badge!! Christ is our belief! Meh.
We are still waiting for the Queen to call back for a follow up lesson from last Monday. We saw her and talked about missionary stuff...so she counts as a new investigator right?
When you're sitting at 5 guys with other missionaries on P Day and a worker comes up and says, "I love Jesus!" And proceeds to sit down, look at all of us, and say while rubbing his hands, "alright, who would like to start us off with prayer?" Yes we were all confused. But he said a nice prayer, expressed his thanks, stood up and walked away! Alrighty then. Just a regular day.
never ever never I mean never wear a flowy skirt on a windy England day. Oh my days so difficult to go finding.
Also I almost died because of a bicyclist. Crazy Londoners. They are just racing to get to church on time so I can't blame them.
When you call a potential investigator and their voicemail is the literally the first half of the bible word for word. Well, this is going to be interesting!

Tyesha!!! We met her this week and she ROCKS! Sister and Elder DeJohn actually found her for us. She was a new investigator just given to us. Big miracle. Tyesha is 17 yrs old and her friend Lamar (also 17) is in the Lea Valley ward and was interviewed this past week to be ordained to a Priest (so good because he was beginning to turn inactive). He brought Tyesha to come with him and while he was being interviewed Sister DeJohn snagged Tyesha and began taking her around the church and explaining what the gospel of Jesus Christ was! That night Sister Brown and I stopped by the chapel to have Sister DeJohn look at my arm (that's another story) and Sister DeJohn introduced Tyesha and said she was interested in taking lessons from us! Super cool! Tyesha came to church this last Sunday and watched Lamar get ordained as a priest. After church we took her over to the baptismal font, told her a little more of our purpose and about this church and...put her on date!!! Wahoo! She is super cool and really excited! And even better--Lamar will be able to baptize her. So good!!! She is on date to be baptized June 26th.
Oh one of the best parts of this week---
WE FINALLY SAW MARC! oh my days. He just oh man. Marc marc marc. We finally got ahold of him and scheduled to meet him in Walthamstow market and he showed up!!! Oh my goodness. The last time I saw him was a month and a half ago the night before his baptismal interview. We got an update on his life. He is still praying and still keeping the word of wisdom and even says he is reading the book of Mormon every now and then. But he will not commit to baptism. He is being so so stubborn and it is so difficult! He is living the life he just doesn't want to be baptized!! I mean we explained it again and again to him that it is a blessing and yadada. He keeps saying that he wants to figure out who he is first before he joins this large group. And that he is more of a lone man who wants to do his own thing. Gr Marc. it got to the point where he wants to be baptized just not confirmed. Really. But he wants to see a baptism and that will be really good for him because he is a visual learner. And don't worry we are not too harsh on him! Just pray for us to get revelation to know how to help him. Because I have no idea. We are seeing him again on Wednesday! And we will bring him to the chapel where some ward members will be that he made friends with. I really hope it goes well. But oh thank goodness we are back in contact with Marc!!!
Joanna is doing great. She is working on getting her patriartical blessing.
