Hello,
Glad to hear there are good news at home!
Unfortunately this has been a rather hard couple of days on this end.
And I'm not really sure how to send this email because the range of
emotions felt in the past couple of days have been pretty severe. So
Fred, he is one of tour very favorite people. He was doing so well.
His life was changing. He stopped swearing and was happy, came to
church once, prayed daily, accepted to live all of the commandments
and was really excited to be baptized in a couple of weeks. Well on
Sunday sister whitehouse and I went to pick him up from his house to
go to church and there had been a fire. His whole flat was black-the
front window was shattered and his broken bed was pulled through.
Police tape was everywhere. We didn't actually get to find out what
happened until about 10:30 Sunday night. Fred passed away.
His granddaughter, Lisa (who we were teaching off and on) got arrested
for arson. It happened 1:30 am the night before. We had just been
teaching him a few hours before. We can't believe he is actually gone.
I am worried sick about Lisa. She has an abusive boyfriend who will
not leave her around and has resorted to drugs to escape and now is
charged with murder. But there is no way she did this knowingly. She
loved her grandfather. And now she is arrested. It has been so awful
learning about all of this. We haven't slept much the last couple of
nights. It doesn't seem really fair. The elders were kind and gave us
a priesthood blessing of comfort. But it has been really hard. We miss
him a lot. And we can't really do anything but keep working. So that's
all we are trying to do now. Sorry for the bad news I just didn't
really know how to tell you. It is on the colchester news if you want
to look it up. We will make it. We just miss him a lot. I really hope
sister whitehouse will be okay.
I'll send news of transfers and other good things to the rest of the
family. Just wanted to let you know about this.
Love, sister Soulier
