November 6--Halfway point

Muscle Mark is gonna get BAPTIZED! Oh he got a suit.  The members are incredible and so Christlike and gave us suits. These people are just so amazing. Mark was walking around church with his fanny pack (he doesn't use a belt so he used the fanny pack to hold up his trousers 😆) and he approached us after the service and tells us, "Everyone says I'm like the Men in Black." Sister Matthews said, "Are they telling you that or are you telling everyone that?"  He just smiles sheepishly, "I am telling them that." Hahah

So Brother Omoruyi gives us 4 suit coats and 2 trousers to give to Mark. Just unbelievable. Here we go to say thank you and his wife asks what she can make us for dinner and bring to church. These people are just amazing! And remember Jane? Yes still teaching her every now and then. Okay here are a few connections with people. Hope you can follow. Jane our investigatorish (the one who has gone to the Ilford ward for 10 years and now wants to pay her tithing but doesn't want to get baptized till she reads the Book of Mormon except she is only in 1 Nephi :( another story all together). But Jane is Sister Omoruyi's sister. So we have brother and sister Omoruyi (who have 2 sons Jeffrey(19 yrs old) and Joseph(15 yrs old)) and Jane, Sister Omoruyi's sister. Jane has 2 sons, Israel (9 yrs old), Immanuel (8 yrs old). None of the latter 3 people are baptized, but all of the former are. And they all live together. I don't think Jane is married anymore. Brother and Sister Omoruyi are the ones who gave the suits and biscuits for the baptism and give us African food weekly at church. I mean the food is a little unsure sometimes. I refuse to touch the fish heads if they still have the eyes on them. I'm not that brave. But his is the great family. My personal favorite. Well besides the recent converts.

And I need to tell you about my new favorite person. Eline. She is wonderful. We met her on the street a week and a half ago. She is from Brazil, married, and has a 3 month old son. She is 35 yrs old. She is just wonderful!! Great, great lessons with her. Sister Calixto (we were on an exchange) extended the date of baptism Dec 11 to Eline and she said yes and the spirit was so incredibly strong you could cut through it. In another appointment I asked her what would it change in her life if she knew there was a living prophet, she replied, "well everything! That means there is someone here that is speaking directly to God. There is so much bad in the world. A prophet would be such a blessing." (Yeah it would!!!). Anyway she came to church last week and a Portuguese member invited her to a family party this weekend. Things are looking good!! Only problem is she always offers us tea and coffee when we come over. Looks like we are teaching word of wisdom next!

Ben got confirmed too. All went well! I was able to sit next to Elder and Sister Richards during the service because they were there for pathway. Extra bonus!

Anyway it's going to be a short one today because we had zone p day and that cut into email time.

Oh one last thing ANA AND DINO GOT BAPTIZED!!! Wahoo!! Love those two so much. Very grateful they finally got baptized. Took a bit, but we got there.

Thanks and love you!!!

Ps don't laugh too much at the last photos I sent. It's a tradition all the sisters do at 9 months.

Soulier Mom and Dad called

Oct 7, 2023 What a crazy morning.  Jason had his first big presentation with his new job, and on the second slide into it, sees a call come in with the voicemail transcribing, "Elder Gong would like to meet with you."  Of course he loses all concentration, someone gets through the call, then finds me and tells me what happened.  Before we can call back, we leave for the airport for a long awaited trip to Beritz, a town in France on the beach.  While there, we zoom with Elder Gong.  "Have you committed any felonies?  Is there anything to prevent you financially from a calling?"  Stuff like that.  Maybe 20 minutes long.  We hung up, amazed to have talked with an apostle.  Our world was definitely taking an unexpected turn.  I even got a call later that day saying my dream position at Skyline was open if I wanted the job.  We come home, and a week before Thanksgiving, get a call from Pres. Oaks office that he'd like to meet ...

Jacob Soulier   To: Jason Soulier , Jennifer Soulier , Annie Soulier , Sarah Soulier Sep 15 at 10:36 PM So, last friday after our morning pray our roommates still were not getting out of bed  but we continued on and plan and got out at 10 and just left them.   We came back and  ate at the house and they were still not having a good time so before we left we took their  temperatures and tried to find them the right medicine.   We texted our mission nurse and  got out to our appointments.  As we are out the mission nurse is calling us saying that  prbly, we shouldn't just leave 2 sick elders alone at the house.  But, we were like...well  we have appointments.  so we just continued on.  Our ward had a baptism that night at  6 and Elder Schmutz, since he is super nice and knows the family apparently, would be  coming.  So, we didn't wanna go to the baptism cuz we don...

MLC The definition of a mormon is one going to, coming to, and sitting in meetings... I think Elder Holland said that. Could be wrong. But it perfectly describes the past week! Meetings upon meetings. Hello family!!! Man I was thinking of you all a lot. Yesterday we went to bishop's house for dinner. They are American and have 4 blonde girls. Sarah and Lily's age. It almost felt like I was with all of you! And I know there are even more birthdays now, so happy birthday Mom!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy happy birthday from all of us to you, we wish you happy birthday.....(I think I'm gonna finally send my letter today so look for it in The next couple of weeks) MLC was great. Elder Phillips came and spoke. Everything he spoke about was focusing on the Savior and loving people one by one. He said programs and plans are great and all, but the best thing you can do is take a piece of paper write down a list of names and love one at a time. He said the...
