I heard the week has been well and autumn has come! And that the primary program was great! I can't believe it was your last one Lily! Wow mom and dad must be getting old with all of the children outside of primary!
Can you believe transfers is upon us again? Here I'll answer for you. No!
As you may be able to guess from the title, "another one" has indeed bit the dust. So I'll just spoil what happened at the beginning. More fun.
Sister Swann has carried and inspired this mission but now unfortunately she is going to be released. She gets to whitewash train in a little town. She still has 2 transfers left on her mission. Can't say I am jealous! She will be great though. I can't even tell you how good of a missionary she is. She has and continues to affect my mission so much. Definitely one of the most influential people on my mission life. I am so sad that she is leaving. She is a fantastic teacher and leader. Australia is way too far. Everyone comes to Utah eventually, right? I pray for the day she does! Or maybe we can visit Australia. I'm down for that too. She will be missed! I love Sister Swann!!!
And surprising I know, President decided to leave me in Ilford for another transfer. We shall see what happens this week. I have already stocked up on necessities. Ibuprofen, chocolate, and fruit, don't worry. I'm really happy I am staying here. I love it here dearly. I have gathered more stories during this transfer than any other transfer. The people here are unlike any I have any met in my entire life.
Now to the exciting part.....(drum roll please Jake) ...............the seventh companion of the mish is..........SISTER MATTHEWS! Wahoo!! Sister Matthews oh I love her too! She was my stl in colchester--companions with sister Wright. I have sent home a bunch of pictures with her already. She is from South Africa. Pretty cool. She is a lot of fun and a great missionary too. I think she is a couple of transfers ahead of me. We are going to have nothing short of an adventure here. Yes and I am already praying we can stay together, that would be nothing short of a miracle considering the track record.
Things are good though! We had to stock up our supply of Book of Mormons with the languages of English, Farsi, Portuguese, Hindu, Arabic, all the fun languages. Forget finding Alma in this! (refer to first photo in next email I will send)
Mission tours!!
Sister Swann and I visited Cambridge and Chelmsford this week. It was really fun. We saw so many miracles! I swear every person we stopped in Chelmsford agreed to meet again! We got like 7 return appointments! God is good! And when you put others first, God takes care of you. We were still able to hit our goals and see our friends even with time taken out of our working area. Cambridge and Chelmsford are certainly beautiful! Too many normal people there though. No crazy stories. The sisters are absolutely killing it!
People....
Do you remember the name Simon? I emailed you about him about a week ago. Sister Kinney and I found him on an exchange and then Sister Swann and I taught him but we had to refer him to the Grays elders. Well they did a fantastic job and Simon is getting baptized this weekend!! Super cool. He is definitely a kingdom builder.
Muscle Mark--continues to do well! He needs an interview with President so we need to schedule that. And because he is a little bit slower President Stevens advised us to have Mark meet with Bishop and Bishop will give the tick of approval if he can be baptized. But Bishop has a different time schedule then us, so we haven't been able to schedule any type of meeting with him and Mark will have to wait to be baptized until at least November. A little unfortunate, but it will work out in the end.
B--I haven't told you much about B. He has been taught by the sisters for 2 transfers now? He has not been baptized yet because we need to get approval from the First Presidency to get him baptized. What can you do. So it has been tricky trying to figure out all of those things. And last time a sister left he wasn't too happy and suddenly decided he didn't want to be baptized anymore. He came back eventually and seems to show real intent. I think when Sister Swann leaves it will really show if he is committed or not. B has a really hard life and suffers from a lot of health problems. The first 5 or 6 times I saw him he had a seizure. He has epilepsy. He is doing a ton better now though! I think he really loves the family feel of the ward. One thing is for sure, he will never go less active!
L---I haven't told you about L either!! I really like L a lot. He is another kingdom builder. Great guy! He is very involved in his Pentecostal church but once he reads the book of mormon, comes to church and hears of the plan of salvation he will be hooked. Excited for him! Only thing stopping him would be his church and the host family he is staying with at the moment aren't pushing for him to be a mormon. We will definetly keep a close eye on him. His date for baptism is November 20th
Jane--funny you should send the scripture mom! Because actually that scripture inspired me to use 2 Nephi 31 of Christ being baptized referring to humility. We shared it with Jane that very night. I think it really touched her. Thanks for the missionary help! Unfortunately she doesn't feel quite ready for her baptism yet. But she has a real desire to serve, so i think eventually that desire will push her to be baptized and she can serve in the kingdom.
J--Getting super busy with work and is slowly not being able to see us as much. Ahh he is slipping! Hopefully he can come to church this week.
Those are the more solid people for now. More for next week! Sister matthews and I are going to find like dragons!
Thanks LOVE AND MISS YOU!
Sister Soulier :)
