June 20th

So you know those days when you don't even have time to put your hair in a ponytail?  Yeah we had like 3 of those in a row.  So it's a wonder only one eye is twitching instead of two.  #Godisgood.

Okay okay okay FIRST OFF is Elder D. Todd Christofferson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!  Wowza that was FANTASTIC!!!  And I got to see all my dear dear friends in the mission.  There are absolutely stellar people that I have met here.  I got to conduct the music and my goodness that was such a special opportunity.  So picture 200 missionaries singing at you with full force.  It's like when you get in the car after Jake has driven and the volume of the radio is at a nice 54.  I think I got blown back 7 inches.  Ask Elder Christofferson if you want a second witness.  (Sister Cobabe is reading this next to me and says, "Well they'll probably see them cuz ya know, salt lake")

but it was so amazing!!!!!!!  We sang our mission hymn--#41 LET ZION IN HER BEAUTY RISE HER LIGHT BEGINS TO SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!  And the spirit was somehow even stronger than the sticky humidity and i couldn't stop smiling.  My face still hurts from it.  Then at the end was of course CALLED TO SERVE HIM HEAVENLY KING OF GLORY.  I couldn't find the page number in time so I just gave up and led without a hymn book.  Such a cool special experience I was able to have.  I am so grateful!!!  Also I totally cheated because I stayed on the stand after the closing prayer and got to shake Elder Christofferson's hand TWICE.  HA!  Cheated, but worth it.

So as for the actual words given, Elder Christofferson had a question and answer session with us.  We didn't have much time, so not many were asked but I learned so much.  There was a line from Sister Christofferson that I absolutely loved.  She said, "The Lord will give you what you are prepared to receive".  She was referring to a story in 2 Kings 4 I believe.  Not really sure I need my notes.  But I love that saying a lot.  It is very powerful.  And someone asked how we can help people know this message is true and Elder Christofferson immediately went to the Book of Mormon Moroni 10:5.  He said of all the sense, (hearing, touch, smell...)  the spirit is the only sense that cannot deceive you.  Wonderful statement that we later used with an investigator.  So yes it was great.

Amazing opportunities we are given with the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So as for the no time to put your hair in a ponytail thing, I can't really remember what did happen those days because it was just so busy.  We went to Stevenage with Sister Benson and Sister De Oliveira.  We are trying to do mini trainings with all of the sisters when we go blitz with them in their area.  Except we didn't have much time so when we got on the train to Stevenage we didn't have a training.  And then when we got off the train from Stevenage 30 minutes later, we had a training.  Heavenly Father helped us incredibly much.  The short training was centred on the four verbs in our purpose.  Invite, help, come, and receive.  Classic I know.  It's a great way to break it down.  #thanksdad

We visited Northampton the other day which was amazing too!  Kind of a long way (2 hour train ride) but we got a lot done.  (Also side note we have been helped so much in catching trains on time.  We have sprinted to nearly every train and we have always made it by at least 30 seconds.  Except one day we got on a train and it started pulling away and the lady next to us said it's not going to Northampton but Birmingham instead.  That was awkward.  Except she was actually wrong and so we go to Northampton from that train thank goodness).  We gave a mini training to Sister Cardoso and Sister Lezano and then found with them for a little bit.  It was so much fun!  And beautiful weather.

We raced back from Northampton to run to Micheala's.  Who is a member who fed us a ton of food.  So much food.  I am still full.  Then we ran home as fast as we could and got a train at 8:56.  #thatwasacloseone

Alrighty alrighty time for a mighty miracle!!!!  So once upon a time Sister Cobabe and Sister Soulier decided to go to a park to workout for morning exercises because they were feeling super motivated or something crazy like that.  (Now we're regretting it cuz we are still sore and transfers are tomorrow and heavy bags on tubes don't mesh super well with sore arms.  #prayersareappreciated).  Anyway so Sister Cobabe choose the responsible route and decided to not leave anything at the park.  Apparently Sister Soulier had other plans in mind.  Which the sisters did not recognise until about 1 hour later, 10 minutes before studies.  Someone might have left their high tech samsung limited edition 1970's with 200 random numbers in it, phone.  So lots of calls and frantic looking everywhere.  Then the sisters thought, "Oh wait!"  (Which means the Holy Ghost finally got their attention) "We should pray to find it!  Yah that's a good idea".  So they prayed.  And you'll never guess what happened.  Actually you can probably guess because there is probably an article in the New Era that has a similar story to it.  Sister Cobabe called the phone and a man answered!  Wahoo!  What a kind soul (or a kind lad if you're feeling especially chipper in the English way).  We biked to his flat (now a little bit sore)  (Oh yah did I mention the park was 15 minutes away via bike? Not the smartest choice) and we got the phone.  Such a miracle!  But that's not even the best part!  Because something I have experienced again and again that often the blessings from heaven are much greater and much better then we can ever imagine.  It's pretty fantastic.  Turns out this man had called the first number that had popped up on my phone and talked to a woman.  She was going to come pick up the phone later because she thought it was from her friend.  Turns out she was thinking of someone else.  So I ended up calling her (someone I had never talked to in my life before)  and thanking her for being willing to come get my phone and that I got it back so all is well that ends well.  Also because missionaries don't know how to talk to someone without talking about gospel things I ended up having a gospel conversation with her over the phone.  She attends a nondenominational christian church.    Apparently her daughter had run into missionaries awhile back and really wanted to learn more, but things didn't work out for some reason.  So Ardia (the name of the woman on the phone) said, "Things like this don't just happen.  This happened for a reason.  Can you come over and tell us more about your message?"  WHAT?! "Um yes we would love to!"  So now we are seeing Ardia and her daughter this week!  We told some other missionaries about this and they were like, "Wow talk about faith finding!  We should go leave our keys or wallet in the park and see what happens." lol.  Let me tell ya ladies and gentlemen, GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!  A returned phone, and 2 new people ready for baptism!  Well at least with a couple of lessons taught first.

Updates on people.  We had a recent convert (Mel) come to a lesson with Nora and I think it was a huge breakthrough!  Nora brought up a ton of concerns that we were not aware about and Mel resolved them wonderfully.  Nora is doing so so so well.  John is still a fight as ever.  He didn't come to church again :(.  It might take him a couple of weeks.  Victoria and her family (the ones the elders were teaching) have chosen a date and time they want to be baptized 15th July at noon.  We went over the interview questions with them and all seems well.  The only problem is Victoria legalizing the marriage...nevertheless they are excited to get baptized!!!!

Anyway, pretty crazy email, but then again pretty crazy week.  From going to Stevenage, Northampton, Central London, and yes even our own area of Hatfield, we pretty much travelled around the world.  And it was wonderful!!!!!

Furthermore, transfers have come once again.  I am confused too.  And sad.  But that's alright.  So Sister Cobabe will be staying in St. Albans and will be receiving Sister D'Costa--a great sister from New Zealand!  They are gonna smash it!  Super excited for them :).  Although I am going to miss Sister Cobabe dearly.  We just had too much fun together to last two transfers together.  So the question is, where am I going?  Good question.  I don't really know the place but picture in your mind the great city of London.  And then zoom out in you mind.  And zoom out some more.  Maybe a little bit more.  And at the very top of the mission you will see a little name called Dereham.  That's where I am going.  Off to the Norwich zone I will be banished!  lol.  And my new companion is......drum roll please.....is.....is.....so I don't actually know who my new companion is. I know it's strange.  That is because my companion is in the MTC right now in Preston.  She's a brand new one!  Wahoo my faith is about to be built!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And I am SO excited to show a new sister everything!  She's gonna love it all!  Except now I have to remember how to do missionary work and why I do things.  Everything has just become muscle memory so this is going to be a little bit confusing.  Also since my companion is still in the mtc, neither of us really know Dereham super well.  So uhhhh, we are going to be figuring this out together!  First thing to do is figure out where our flat is.  Or even how to get to Dereham.  I think you travel by train to Norwich and then bus to Dereham?  Who knows.  I think we get the phone tomorrow so I am going to be calling a ton of members and pleading for help on the very first day.  It'll be an adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!  #prayersarealwaysappreciated

I have absolutely loved serving in St. Albans with Sister Matthews, Sister Lamb, and Sister Cobabe.  All incredible missionaries that I have learned loads from.  I am going to miss these members a lot but, we'll as see each other again soon!

So, here we go.  I have a feeling this transfer is gonna be a good one. AND IT BETTER LAST A LONG TIME!

Love,
Sister Soulier

Soulier Mom and Dad called

Oct 7, 2023 What a crazy morning.  Jason had his first big presentation with his new job, and on the second slide into it, sees a call come in with the voicemail transcribing, "Elder Gong would like to meet with you."  Of course he loses all concentration, someone gets through the call, then finds me and tells me what happened.  Before we can call back, we leave for the airport for a long awaited trip to Beritz, a town in France on the beach.  While there, we zoom with Elder Gong.  "Have you committed any felonies?  Is there anything to prevent you financially from a calling?"  Stuff like that.  Maybe 20 minutes long.  We hung up, amazed to have talked with an apostle.  Our world was definitely taking an unexpected turn.  I even got a call later that day saying my dream position at Skyline was open if I wanted the job.  We come home, and a week before Thanksgiving, get a call from Pres. Oaks office that he'd like to meet ...

Jacob Soulier   To: Jason Soulier , Jennifer Soulier , Annie Soulier , Sarah Soulier Sep 15 at 10:36 PM So, last friday after our morning pray our roommates still were not getting out of bed  but we continued on and plan and got out at 10 and just left them.   We came back and  ate at the house and they were still not having a good time so before we left we took their  temperatures and tried to find them the right medicine.   We texted our mission nurse and  got out to our appointments.  As we are out the mission nurse is calling us saying that  prbly, we shouldn't just leave 2 sick elders alone at the house.  But, we were like...well  we have appointments.  so we just continued on.  Our ward had a baptism that night at  6 and Elder Schmutz, since he is super nice and knows the family apparently, would be  coming.  So, we didn't wanna go to the baptism cuz we don...

MLC The definition of a mormon is one going to, coming to, and sitting in meetings... I think Elder Holland said that. Could be wrong. But it perfectly describes the past week! Meetings upon meetings. Hello family!!! Man I was thinking of you all a lot. Yesterday we went to bishop's house for dinner. They are American and have 4 blonde girls. Sarah and Lily's age. It almost felt like I was with all of you! And I know there are even more birthdays now, so happy birthday Mom!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy happy birthday from all of us to you, we wish you happy birthday.....(I think I'm gonna finally send my letter today so look for it in The next couple of weeks) MLC was great. Elder Phillips came and spoke. Everything he spoke about was focusing on the Savior and loving people one by one. He said programs and plans are great and all, but the best thing you can do is take a piece of paper write down a list of names and love one at a time. He said the...
