Hey. This week was good. Beth and Victor got baptized this last week. It was really nice experience. Victor is an older tatay, 78 years old. He always walks alone to church, which is a far walk. He showed up to the baptism and his dirty, old white t shirt was soaked in sweat. His wife kinda wants to come to church too (both of these 2 people getting baptized were just owm's that are the first members in their families) but, she's like 80+ yrs old and she can't exactly make the walk. She says if she comes she'll take a jeepney, we might have to try and pick her up this next week.
Then Beth of course, her dad is a baptist preacher so her conversion has been crazy. She is super converted, when I came here we didn't have too much hope for her. The only reason we were coming back (says my companion) is hope for her 15yrold daughter but, because of some 'Spiritual Experiences' she has had a big change and she happily exclaims that she is no longer going to any terestial of telestial kingdom but, celestial. Her life situation isn't easy. But, although things seem to get harder for her, she's getting stronger. Members kinda complaned to us cuz apparently she was being loud in church (like saying AMEN, ya know interupting during class) bringing in what she is used to for her baptist church, so she still has a lot of things to grow, and hopefully she doesn't get offended from something someone said at church (cuz filipinos get easily offended, I've meet a lot of inactives and it's all usually cuz kids were baptized (not big testimonies) or they got offended at church) that bugs me cuz they say the church is true but, they aren't willing to come to church. If things go right, her teenage daughters will get baptized if they can stop smoking, drinking, and being sassy teenagers that are too cool for school.
Otherwise another week of teaching, finding new people, getting new commitments to come to church, then, people not following through.
