August 29

Hello everyone!!!! Bishop Bleckley came and took sister Whitehouse and me out to lunch win his family!! They were so great and so fun to be with. His two little girls were darling. They each had on name tags signifying they would be a missionary one day. He was very very kind to take us out. Man this. This week. It's been a blessed week. Many miracles that we have been able to witness. First off, FRED!! Wow he is a champ. He is doing so well. He hasn't smoked in a week and a half and has had NO zero zilch nada tea for 2 whole days!!! He used to have 7 every morning so this is major progression people. So proud of him we can hardly stand it. And he came to church!!!! Ahhhhhh! Well sister Whitehouse and I walked over to his home early Sunday morning and knocked on his door (trying to avoid the hundreds of flies swirling everywhere). He said he was still waiting for his nurse (his nurse comes every morning and injects him because he is diabetic)...

August 22

Hiya!! So it may have been a couple of days since I last emailed...yah...sorry.  :)  But I am emailing now!  And you betcha-there are exciting things to relate!   And I am just throwing everyone in this email  :)  Hope that's acceptable.  Feel free to delete if needed.  :)  I can't see what happens on the other side. Sister Whitehouse and I tried to complete a service project for a couple of our friends.  It went well (I mean all we had was a spade and shovel to rake out a giant bush and a mini tree).  (We are just a little helpless).  Everything was lovely until one of our friends accidentally struck an unsuspecting wasp nest in the ground.  Then it wasn't quite so lovely.  But good news is that Sister Whitehouse and I are semi fast runners.  We managed to escape with no fatal wounds, but unfortunately our friends were not quite as lucky.  They received a sting on their head and arm.  :...

August 15

August 15 Missionary things that relate to England at this present time. The Nigerian Irish family is doing okay.  Apparently things are very busy for them because they are moving in.  Not good.  So we only get to see them once a week.  And they haven't come to church yet.  Meh.  But the great thing about missionaries is that we don't give up too easily.  So we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers and hopefully they will make progression eventually! Jewels!  I LOVE HER!  She is just doing wonderfully.  We gave her Moroni 10 to read and she came back with v32 being her favorite because she said she knows that with Christ she can continue to improve.  And then she went on to say how it applied to her life.  Wow I love her.  It is the most wonderful thing ever in the entire world when an investigator not only reads the Book of Mormon, but understands it AND applies it.  (Cue Hercules "Thank his luuuuuc...

Finding, finding, finding

August 8 Hiya!!! Is summer really coming to a close??  I keep forgetting it's summer.  The days are all kind of the same here.  When does school start?  Can't believe it's almost over!!   Also appreciate air conditioning.  There is no air conditioning in England.  No one wants to pay for it to only use it for the 2 weeks when it is hot.  Except we did find one restaurant in town that has a sign on the wall that it is a fully air conditioned restaurant.  Ohhh posh. Yes so thank you for praying for Selam!  We weren't really teaching anyone else, so she was the only one that needed prayers.  Unfortunately all of our people decided they didn't want to be baptized anymore...not exactly sure why.  But that's okay!  Because Sister Whitehouse and I get to find more!!  And we found a Nigerian Irish family.  It is the perfect amount of African and Irish.  I love it.   Africans are my favorite....

6 months gone

August 1 Afternoon everyone-- Well 6 months will be hit on Wednesday.  Only a year left.  That was fast. I can't believe it is so hot in Utah.  It is the exact opposite here.  I almost put on tights this morning!  But now it is warming up.  Just takes a bit. Transfers happened last week. Sister Guimaraes got moved to Watford and Sister Whitehouse came here.  Sister Whitehouse is from Seattle, Washington.  She has been a missionary for 2 months.  She studied Biology at byu (what can you do) and will go to graduate school after the mission.  She didn't always want to go on a mission, but Heavenly Father prompted her to go and here she is!  She is really kind and a super good listener.  She adds a lot to the area.  I'm super grateful she is here!  We are becoming super good friends! :) Transfers was the only big thing.  I can't think of too much more to say--I am going to forward Sis...

Goodbye Sister Guimaraes

July 26 Hiya Family!!! Love the videos from Weber.  Looks like everyone is having a grand old time.  I'll admit, I completely forgot about Pioneer Day.  And I keep forgetting it is summer.  Although it has been so nice in England for the past 3 weeks.  I haven't even needed a jumper!  And I am getting a watch tan!!  YAY Vitamin D.  Utah looks toasty warm.  Enjoy it all. So I don't know how, but transfers seem to be on us again.  Sister Guimaraes (contrary to popular vote) will be leaving Colchester.  :(  We are so sad.  We have not been well today.  It is SO hard.  We are such good friends and absolutely love working together.  She is an incredible missionary and I learned loads from her.  I feel like missionary work is clicking this transfer in my head.  I am understanding more and more of how it is done.  We are finally getting into a stride and then transfers.  :(  We ...

July and warming up

July 19 HELLO!!!! Good to hear from all of you!  I know I say this every time. But time is going so fast. Next week will be transfers. I do not want to lose my companion. We need to stay together. You can pray for that. Just kidding. We will se what next week brings! P day will be on Tuesday again so emails will be late. This week was a good week!! I'm trying to remember everything that happened. It's all such a blur. Oh Nish!!! Our lovely investigator from India. She wow. She is all over the place. Every day (no every hour) Sister Guimaraes and I go back and forth of whether she I'll make her date for July 30th or not. We just don't know what to think. She has refused to give up coffee at all in the past. This week we committed her to no coffee and she did it! In fact in our lesson on Saturday she said she could give up coffee forever!! (Except for this coffee dessert but we will work it out). What a drastic change this was. All because she is praying and reading ev...

Nish and Hadi

July 11 England is good! Today it was sunny and then it rained and then it was windy and then it was sunny. I have no idea what to wear. So not too much is changing on the weather side!! Interviews are next week so transfers will be Tuesday. Don't fret if I don't email.  Nish!!! Our lovely investigator from India :). I really need to send a photo to you. She is doing FANTASTIC. Wow I mightve doubted a little that she would make her baptism date of July 30th but she is doing so well. She came to church this week for the send time and we overheard her telling a member that she hadn't planned on coming again, but she felt so peaceful at church and had to come again. She also said she would help us teach the lesson to the YSA next week :). Yes she is confirmed and loving church!!! Fantastic. Okay big week ahead because she needs to give up coffee this week!!! Pray for her please. Please a lot. We promised her that this Saturday she would be able to work all day ...
